Another summer has come to pass, and with it another season of baseball and another Grand Slam Reading Contest Winner. For over twelve years, Susquehanna Computer Innovations, Inc. has partnered up with the Williamsport Crosscutters to support young readers.
The “Grand Slam Reading” is a contest for students from all area schools, ages 14 and under, that motivates them to read at least four books in four weeks. Once completed, students receive two tickets to a Crosscutters game and are entered into a drawing for a first pitch throw and a special prize from SCI that included a Chromebook, a backpack, a headset and a mouse.
This year’s lucky winner was Gabriel Frey! He is pictured above, receiving his certificate and accompanied by Amy Resh, Executive director and Kristin Caringi, CFO/COO from the library as well as Makayla Shaffer from SCI Inc. and everyone’s favorite mascot, Boomer! Congratulations and good luck to all the future participants, keep on reading!
